How often to change oil on older/newer cars?

So its not the best stuff as even you don;t trust it past 5k. Heck even the cheapest name brand oil should do 5k easy.

And driving a car hard on the street should have little effect on the oil if your engine is running proper.

Royal Purple IMO is the best oil on the market today and my car is supercharged with 15+Psi of boost running through it so daily beatdowns and redline runs deserve a 5K+ mile oil change.

Just a note - Subaru considers turbocharged motors to be 'severe service', so if it's turbo you have a 3750 interval (unless things have changed since my '04).

It's an 03 XS Forester with 142,000 miles on it bought it last month with 141,000 miles on it. It's my mom's, a turbo for her would be both awesome and hilarious at the same time. :D Great little vehicle, so many neat little features that when you look at them make so much sense. Love it, whenever my Saturn dies I'm going with a Subaru for myself.

If you come across any parts vehicles nearby keep a lookout for a set of rear cup holders in gray.
