Look in the service manual... usually 30k for a drain and fill

but drain and fill never gets out all of the fluid... so I do mine over a 2-3 week.. drain and fill 3 times...

someone people do the flush and fill but theres some danger associated to that from all the internet forums..

a proffesional flush is much more effective than even several drain and fills. Take it to a mechanic who knows what he's doing, not jiffy lube.

Auto. Trans fluid: Fluid & Filter change every 25-30K.
Coolant change: A: The "old style" green coolant: Every 3 years
Coolant change: B: The "new style" orange coolant: Every 5 years

YMMV according to your Manual, but these are the same with all of my vehicles.

honda service manuals usually specifically state NOT to power flush their transmissions.

drain and fill for regular service. If it has not been serviced consistently, drain and fill, drive around a couple miles or so and then drain and fill again. That will remove atleast 2/3rds the fluid. Repeat one more time if you want almost all of it out.

edit, sorry this is for auto, the thread is for manual which i know nothing about.

It's even more confusing than that now. Dexclone coolant (extended life) comes in green now. Plus you have pink, yellow, red, (and purple?) coolants.

And most recommend the old style every 2 years.

I've seen tranny's go out even w/ the pros doing flushes. I wouldn't do it.

I would just buy the stock honda stuff and drain and fill that also... I dont know which one but one of those 5 year coolant had problems and a lot of people supposely had bad pumps or worn pumps because of it..

http://www.geocities.com/b_gillie/dexcool_problems - i dont know if thats even true or not but pretty scary..
