How often does Les Stroud get diarrhea?

It's usually all I can think about when watching him or Bear.

Eating raw bugs. Different weeds and greens growing wild. Outdoor water sources.

I mean a normal guy just can't go to another part of the world and eat foregin raw foods like he depicts. Gotta make it gradual, or at least that's what I would think.

And the water situation will get bad fast with the trots. But either they never suffer from it, or they just don't mention it.

In reality I think it'd be at the damn near top of the list of things to avoid. A bout of tummy sickness will leave you dehydrated and dead pretty quick.

Surely even they don't do this stuff often enough or have an iron gut to tolerate what they imply to be doing.

If I were to suck the water out of an elephant turd, I doubt that water would stay in very long.

Probably a lot.

If I were to suck the water out of an elephant turd, I doubt that water would stay in very long.

I don't think it would matter much, after all he'll be in a 5-star hotel downin' a gourmet meal a few hours later.

Les usually cooks whatever he's eating to a charred crisp. That probably avoids most of the butt soup problems, though I doubt he gets much nutrition from the food either.

Actually on second thought Bear probably never has it. This should be apparent considering how full of shit he is.

Last night on the amazon episode he mentioned how he was "paying for" drinking directly from the river, then started boiling his drinking water.

I thought that was kinda funny - "I'm crappin my brains out after drinking straight from the river. Oh wait I have this clean aluminum can I've had for days to boil water in."

Hasn't Les mentioned being sick a few times on camera?

Les normally boils the water and cooks his "daily" catch. Bear probably gets the runs very often because he's so full of sh1t.

On the episode where Les is in the North Pole, he's eating an icicle. WTF?

I was just watching Survivorman reruns a little while ago. I quickly became convinced that Les is an idiot. He built a shelter, but decided to start a fire a hundred yards or so away from the shelter. After getting the fire started, he realized he forgot to have some wood available to keep it going. Then, he had to carry something on fire back to his shelter (which later caught on fire; nice going, Les.) It took several attempts to get it back. Uhhhh, why not carry the materials to start your fire back to where you're actually going to have the fire? All he has to do is survive 7 days. If he had to survive 4 weeks in any of his locations, I'd put my money on mother nature.
