3 days, but they have to be consecutive. If I wear a different pair of pants on day 2, I won't wear the original pants again until they're washed.

i take my dress pants to the dry cleaners with my shirts probably every 6 - 8 weeks. i have a lot of clothes though. i take all of them in on a friday and just pick them up on saturday evening. i've never washed any of my work/dress clothes myself.

Most speakers in the United Kingdom use trousers (sometimes slacks) as the general category term; pants often refers to underwear and is rarely used interchangeably with trousers
