Call me shallow all you want, i've been called worst. At least i'm not dirty and stinky.

It's actually very important, or will be. The point is, if you find someone you "love", how would you feel if once you grew old together, the other person left because your looks were fading from what was popular/young/attractive, if you find a shallow mate, that's very likely.

People forget what is truly important in other people... everyone will stink given time, the environment will make us stink more often than not. And people that make such a big deal about this and other things like the way someone looks... they miss out on what it means to be a human. This man could be a saint, and a girl told him girls don't like him because of his jeans... I see something very wrong with that.

Do you live in the real world?

Believe what you want, but physical attraction, including scent, are very important characteristics for humans. You sound like you're simply justifying your own deficiencies. If you're not getting girls because of your smell, it's not that big of a change from washing once every 2 months to once a week.... really, it's not.

As you are a human with a great intelligence in comparison to other animals, I must ask you something. Since the beginning, the brain's more primitive areas would tell us to base mates on attraction, what we may sense as fertility, etc. But really, if someone has a big nose, does that mean anything bad as far as survival goes? It may not look right to you, but because we are so intelligent, we realize many things simply do not matter. Blonde hair vs brown hair, breast size, etc. We are more intelligent than most animals, I'd hope. Despite what humans are attracted to, if you use your brain, you realize many of these things don't matter.

I don't smell, and that's not what the thread is about. Unfortunately I do live in the real world, a world in which no matter how you are inside, it's whats outside that counts. No matter how good of a mother you can be, you'll be turned down by most because of your face. Welcome to progress.

somewhere between the 2-6 range. I put 4-6 cause that is my norm, but sometimes, expecially when I am working on my truck, they just need to be washed sooner than later

I am very anal about wrinkles in my clothes. And when you wear something you stretch it, and it doesn't fit properly after that.
So I wash them alot.
Also, whenever I put on a pair of jeans, although they may fit fine at first, after a while they stretch and it looks funny on me because I have very short legs.

I'd say every couple weeks but I don't wear them every day and I have multiple pairs. I wait until they start to look somewhat grungy. Voted 4-6

I thought that the faded rusty torn looking jeans were in now... hell u can even buy them in the store now looking like they already been worn for years...
wash them sukkas afta every use.

If I'm wearing jeans, chances are good that I'm going to be doing something on one of the farms... sweat + dirt = immediate wash.

Slacks, etc., I might wear twice before washing. Maybe.

If my clothes start fading, I'd rather buy new ones than wear clothes longer than I'm comfortable before washing them. I've got this thing about stinking... I guess it could be called a phobia. Sometimes I might put on a pair of pants that I wore a few days prior (wore just one day, but had been a few days ago)... and then I would freak out, thinking "omg that's gross eww eww eww", so I'd change into something that has just been washed.

I wear jeans practically every day, I maybe use them 3-7 times in between washes? That is, assuming they still look and smell clean.

Then again, I once dropped a hot dog on my crotch in a fresh pair of jeans. I could never get the freaking mustard to come out.

Everything else is 1-2 uses, except for my dry clean only POS.

I pretty sit most of the day in an office. The rest of the time I'm at some else's desk installing/configuring software/hardware or fixing an error. The most horriying thing my jeans come into contact with is my boxers.

Once a week here - in the washer/dryer. Mutha'F' paying $20 at the dry cleaners and having to wait days to get them back. I usually wash them inside out, though; seems to keep the color lasting longer.

every 2/3 days- after that, you can notice that the body oils from your skin that rub into your jeans keep in heat fairly well, so they don't breathe very well.

Summer (that's 8+ months in FL) = 1 wear
If it's cool out = 2 wears

And that depends on how long worn. If it's all day then 1 wear either way. Of course I go commando so... 😉 :Q

Unless you've gotten your jeans really dirty, they should be washed once a month, max. Some labels, specifically those that produce "dry" denim, recommend washing only a few times per year. Otherwise, you're prematurely fading the indigo and wearing out the denim.

jeans have barely stretched back into normal shape with one wear. I'll go 3-5 or until they lose all signs of crispness from the last wash.

damn a lot of dirty people in here.

Are jeans that hard to replace when they wear out? If you are wearing clothing you can't afford to launder due to the extra wear it entails...you are wearing out of your league.

If anyone is wearing the same article of clothing for more than 7-10 times prior to washing it, they are disgusting.

It's not that I can't afford it really, it's just that I am a cheap bastard. Hell I still have a GF2 GTS and Kyro II card in two of my PC's.

You don't wash your clothes and you're a cheap bastard. The ladies must love you. 😛

Who the hell stinks up their jeans in such a short amount of time? I usually go about 6-8 wears for general use (ie school), and 2-3 for bar jeans. Note that I shower before putting them on, and I don't sweat in them or anything (on a regular day). So its just the gradual accumilation of the bodies natural oils that happens. If your jeans start smelling from BO from two wears that's weird. However, I do wash my Tshirts and sweaters almost everytime, because those items DO stink up. And I do smell my own stink. My gym bag smells like ass.

... what is there to be confused about? If I take the time to work on one of the farms, it's usually doing something that leaves me relatively dirty.

The point is, you can be the cleanest person on the face of the planet, your jeans are still going to stink. The reason is b/c your clothes pick up all the odors that are around you. And that is very icky. That is why I maintain a 3 day MAX limit on jeans. B/c while they don't pick up scents as quickly, they do pick them up.

And wanting people to wash clothes in a reasonable timeframe is not shallow. I'm not objecting to 'dirt', I'm objecting to 'smell'.

Rejecting someone based on jeans is. I haven't seen any other evidence that this carries onto anything else he does or is.. just his jeans.

I'm not talking about rejecting him. And I'm not talking about rejecting someone based on 'jeans'. It's not like I'm like "Omg! Your jeans are totally not stylish! Stay away from me, you freak!" And this was all started in good fun. I simply made the assertion that if he didn't wash his jeans for 2 months, he was stinky. ^_^

I like this guy. I consider him my friend. My comment about 'no wonder you can't get a g/f' was a joke. I was teasing him, that's all. Trust me, I know all about what's on the inside that counts. I'm not saying he's not a nice guy or that he doesn't deserve stuff. just that his jeans were stinky. All this was was a debate on who was the freak and I do believe that has been established. ^_^

However, with that being said, it's hard to be cuddly and cozy with someone who is stinky. 😉

*wonders if baka has ever jiggled his knee-fat sexily for these people.*
