How often do you update your virus definition?

i have norton...
sitting somewhere in the bundle of cds somewhere.

didnt install it, if i get infected by a virus, i would reformat. that being said, as long as you dont open anything suspicous in your email, and download crap executables, your chance of getting one is very low.

Do you actually use your computer? 😉

A fullscan for me takes like almost 20 minutes. Defragging is like a few hours... 😉

takes no time at all, because it does it so often, it just goes quickly now, and I have it set to do it between ~1-6 am, when I'm not awake anyways 🙂

I hear definitions come out at least every Wednesday (can anyone confirm?)... so I do it once a week.

whenever i get tired of mcafee telling me there is a new update available.

usually once a week.

We have NAV corporate running on Enterprise. Everything runs on autopilot here. Never a problem. The Administration keeps up on security.

Cheers!

Never. I haven't used an anti-virus in my life and in fact I've never been affected by one except back around 8 years ago I had an annoying little one, but other than that not a single problem in all my life!

I may in fact have 1 or even 50 on my machine now but they aren't bothering me, so I don't want to move them. They need a home too.

I use the freeware anti-virus AVG from www.grisoft.com.

It automaticly updates the definition at 3:35am and runs at 4:00am(the times I set).

It's caught 100% so far. 🙂 Free is good!
