My wifes cousin put me in his outlook address book 3 months ago then he got infected with Klez. needless to say i have been getting 2 or more klez infected emails from his IP every week ever since. I have told him several times that he has it and tried pointing him to some resources like trendmicros downloadable tool to take care of it but he is pretty computer ignorant and hasn't figured it out yet. I would go clean it for him but he is to far away for that o be a reasonable option. fortunately pccillin nabs it everytime. Gets pretty annoying though.

Just got another one; this one is from a Hotmail account, and was routed from an AOL server.

Never have had one. I don't have any anti virus software installed permenantly, but I run checks every now and then. The only files thta showed up as virii were moo.dll and an mirc script, both of which are confined to their own files and both just report system info stuff, so I'm not very worrried about them, plus they haven't caused any problems I've noticed.

None. And I find it surprising since my email address was plastered across half a dozen or so mailing lists I'v participated in too. Hell, the only spam I get is the stuff directed at those mailing lists, I very rarely get any spam sent directly to me.

Never. Not ever.

I do spot checks on my system on rare occasions and I never find anything.

I never give out my real email address to the public and I'll use a hotmail account for public use. That way any potential problems stay up at Microsoft's servers and never touch my PC.

About 2 months ago, at the height of the Klez virus, I was getting 3 or 4 a day. It is now down to about 2 or 3 a week, always Klez. NAV catches it every time. I suspect a relative in Montana is infected, but no amount of tech support can help them.

I've received maybe 2 in the time I've been using the Internet (8 years?) ... tho I like to keep my primary email addresses/etc.. very anonymous. My mIRC script is set to be catious of file sends, and I'm not stupid.. so I guess I just don't really receive any.

I get one maybe once a year. Suprising considering I receive over 30,000 pieces of email and spam a year.

I only get them at my hotmail account I use for ordering stuff and Ebay. I never get any at my pop addresses because I don't post the address anywhere, I only give it to friends.

I have no idea.
I don't run windows, so I don't worry about it.
And this somehow protects you? I will send you some then. If you run Windows in anything other than the default administrator, most viruses will not pose a threat.

I the last 3 to 4 yeas I've received ONE virus via email....

The Univ has a filter at the proxy that really works... the one that passed was sent from inside and it was a locally designed
virus, and it wasn't that good it was really easy to spot and get rid off!!

Send me all you want.
There are no viruses in the wild that can infect a linux box via email.
