When I think about it, last time I had a nghtmare was when I was like 12.
I only get them after watching horror movies which is not so often.

Nightmares? What are those? Are they similar to dreams? Don't have those either.

Actually, I'm pretty serious. I can't remember a single dream in .... years? Seriously :( No good dreams, bad dreams, wet dreams, nothing. I guess my life sucks even when I am asleep.

Edit: I remember once I had this nightmare. After I had played Serious Sam: The Second Encounter for a while, I got used to the huge arenas with constant monster spawning. I had this dream where I was in a mall and outside was a barren desert, from which thousands of monsters were coming towards the mall. I led this group of people into a vent as the monsters closed in, and then I woke up.

I haven't had a real nightmare in several years. Even if there's a scary dream (nuclear holocaust, zombie invasions, a serial rapist in my bathroom, etc) I rarely die and if I do it's in a blaze of glory and anger and not being slowly tortured to death.

So far this week I have dreamed about:

[*]Nuclear War
[*]Zombie attack
[*]Abducted by aliens

lol, beat me to it.

I tend to have nightmares all the time. Is this normal for an adult?

I have the same nightmare over and over.

I dream that Meg Ryan and my wife are fighting over me and my wife is winning.:(

lol

Mine aren't so much nightmares as adventure stories. LOTR style.

That'd rock!

Kinda. They're always stressful as hell though. Once I had one where terrorists took over my University and I had to hide out for 24 hours (I was out of my dorm at the time) before finding the ROTC dorm and starting a resistance. So I got a 10 guy resistance going, and we had just made radio contact with the Army when I woke up.

Not as glorifying as it sounds though. Some dark side of my brain dreamed up what the terrorists would have done to people who had tried to resist. The sane side effectively blurred out any gore, but it's like watching a censored porno. You still hear and know what's going on. I won't go into details, but that portion wasn't pleasant in the least.

I very rarely have them. Usually when I do it involves being surrounded by poisonous snakes. :p

Under most circumstances if a dream starts to turn bad I suddenly realize it can't possibly be real and I can wake myself up.

Depends how exhausted I am. When I keep myself fully wiped out I tend to sleep without dreaming, hence no nightmares either. If I don't do that then the odds are good I'll have nightmares 5 days out of 7.

Not a nightmare, but last week, I had one dream where I wake up and look in the mirror, and I'm bald. I kept rubbing my hands over my head hoping my hair would reappear and then I screamed and woke up.

Maybe once or twice a month, I have a bunch of pretty intense dreams and I remember all of them the next morning. Sometimes they feel so real, it freaks me out. I wouldn't call any of them nightmares, just freaking weird.

my 1 year old son had his first nightmare last night. It was both comic and tragic at the same time.

I used to have nightmares quite often, but thankfully, I rarely have them any more. I used to hate to sleep because I was afraid I'd have a nightmare. I still don't really like dreaming, but thankfully I don't dream that much any more. :)

I love dreaming! I'm usually too tired when I sleep to remember what happens, but when I do, it kicks ass! My nightmares are usually very freaky though; the result of like several weeks' worth of built up stress.
I tend to lucid dream, a lot, probably because most of my dreams are so outrageous (me in some multi-million dollar car, me in the Playboy mansion, me fighting a war) that I can't help but realize they're dreams. Usually ends up being lots of fun when the Superman powers start showing up :p
I had a very VERY weird dream once where all the characters from some cartoon, I think Rocko's Modern Life, grabbed me, threw me in the trunk of my mom's mini-van, and poked me in that really annoying spot right above your hip until I woke up. I was traumatized :(
