How about free in the poll? I do my own hair, it's a fairly easy hair cut, looks good too ;)

Nearly on the subject, does anyone know a good cheap website or software for previewing haircuts? Kinda like that Cosmopolitan makeover thing for women? I'd like a new look and I'm utterly incompetent at describing it in words. I need a picture.

Benefits of this:
1. Pay once in a year, not every time
2. Since you're selling haircuts for a year, you can discount it on a whole compared to just a single cut
3. Paying that one time fee isn't that great of a feeling, but after that, it'll be nice walking in without swiping that credit card. Instead of a monthly fee or whatever, it's just a yearly thing.
4. Since you're only paying once, chances are in the future you will psychologically feel a less burden and be willing to tip more than normal.
5. It's unique and a new idea, the business would get some attention just for that.

Some questions you'll need to answer
What would make them want to discount the price?
What incentive do they have to see me as often as I'd like?
What incentive do they have to see me before the pay-per-use customers?

4. I would personally be way less likely to tip. I'd probably never tip with this system, in fact
5. You have to think past the novelty. Ask Pepsi Blue how long you can ride a wave of novelty.

I cut my own hair, because it's a simplistic style and I can't justify spending $10 for some joe schmoe to do something that even I can do without a problem. My hair also grows back fairly fast, so I'd be spending that much every 2-3 weeks just to get it back down to the level that I like, because if I don't keep it down, my hair starts falling out :Q!

Every other month.

35$ before tip.

Cut comes with shower, head massage, then after cut rinse.

I tip usually 5-10$ depending on the head massage.

To me, its worth it, for most others, its way too expensive.

Interesting idea, but it depends on if you're talking about just a hair cut...or other stuff. men get their hair cut a lot more frequently than women do (at least in my experience) however women may go just to get their hair styled. I know all the females in my life just get their hair cut every 4-6 months, whereas i go every 4-5 weeks.

I like the idea generally as a customer - and if it would result in my net annual hair cut cost decreasing, then i'd be all for it. but as a business owner, your cash flow would be totally skewed - and its hard for a business to survive only collecting payments 1 time per year per customer. ideally you'd have 'new' customers every month so that you have cash flow for each month of the year...but that is not something that can be calculated.

I get mine cut every 5 weeks. I should go more often but finances prevent that. I pay $30 with no tip.
