How often do you format?

I just formatted today. :/ Stupid ntldr is missing error...I couldn't fix it, but I could back everything up by plugging the drive into a different machine. Um, ordinarily I reformat about every 3 months. Something usually goes breaks about every 3 months, so that's how often I format.

I once got an ntldr missing error on NT 4.0 because I'd deleted C:\ntldr !!. Yeah, I thought somehow it was dispensable. I fixed the problem by copying the file to the root directory with the help of a bootdisk.

Every 3 months is just way too often, IMO.

Live a little.... Geezus
I am living a little. I am living a lot. Not having to reformat my PC gives me loads and loads more time to actually get out and, live a little. I install lots of apps. Some of it turns out to be absolute crap. Like thorin says, if you know what's going into your PC, you can take it out without screwing everything up. I don't meed to reformat when some software starts to misbehave. I need to remove the misbehaving software and go on living my life. Not reformatting.

about the only time i reformat is if i upgrade to a new motherboard (which happens about 1.5 years), or if i go to a new operating system (since the mid 1990's ive only used win95, then win98se, then winxp. so 3 times in about 9 years 🙂 )
