How often do you flip your mattress?

I haven't had a "real" bed since I was 12 . . . had either a futon or a waterbed the entire time.

I've got a pillow-top, but it's different because it's pillow top on both sides. :D It's probably the best money I ever spent on a piece of furniture, so obviously I'd like to keep it in good shape.

Should I do it every time I change the sheets? (Once a week?) Once a month? When I notice lumpiness?

Haha, I've never flipped a mattress in my life. well, I guess each time I moved I had a 50/50 chance of flipping it.

We bought our Sealy Posturpedic Mira Loma Queen for $339 @ CostCo B&M back in January 2002 and haven't flipped it since then. I think you're supposed to flip it after the first 3 months then flip it every 6 months? I think it has flipping instructions with the owner's manual.

I haven't flipped a mattress in about 15 years. I'll stick with my waterbed. Never needs flipped and a very good replacement mattress is less than $200.

Now if I can find sheets that stay on for a reasonable price

I have the double-pillow type mattress and it gets flipped every time the sheets are changed. Notice I said "it gets flipped" and not "I flip it". Ain't wives great?

I remember flipping mine a few years ago. So that would be once in about 10 years. I think you are supopsed to flip it every 6 months right?

We flip and rotate the mattress about once a month.

You will start getting the hammock scenario after a while if you don't, unless you've bought a bed thats hard as a rock.

I've had a waterbed for 20 years, but I've been thinking about going back to a regular mattress, but I'm scared that my back won't like it.

What kind of mattress did you get?
