How often do you drive with both hands on the wheel?

I usually drive using both hands at about only 5% of time. This is mostly during a heavy downpour or through a very windy road. All other times it's one handed because it's a lot more comfortable.

When I need to corner well and I'm going around a corner fast I generall use both hands, all other times, one hand, pimpin style.

Or BIG pimpin' with one finger.

I drive stick so usually I just use one hand. Like smoeone said before..if its a really fast or sharp turn i'll use two.

Personally I'd say I use both hands about <5% of the time, one hand 80%, and neither about 15% (when just cruising on a straight road such as a highway; turn on cruise control and you don't have to do anything besides minor adjustments every few minutes)

Hands?

I have knees I drive with ty....

I'm too busy on my celly and eating to worry about that wheeli-ma-callit..

I one hand it primarily - right elbow on the armrest, right hand on the wheel - not gripping the rim so much as resting on the face of the wheel when I'm going straight. It's hard to explain, but it seems like my car's wheel was designed for that posture. I one hand most turns, again, right handed. For slow tight maneuvering, I do the whole butt of hand on the rim, turning the whole thing through several revolutions thing.

In a fast turn or serious maneuvering, it's two hands. Usually just to hold on, as my seats offer no lateral support and I'd be riding shotgun if I made a left turn and wasn't careful.

90 degree angle turns, usually. That's pretty much it, nowadays.

Sometimes I drive with my left thumb and index finger, but only when I can afford to be stupid.

Having driven commercial vehicles most of my life, I learned to drive with both hands...used to be 10 and 2 o'clock positions, now they say 9 and 3 for more comfort...Once in a while, I'll catch my self driving one handed...but probably 80% of the time, I keep both hands on the wheel.

yep.

80%? I don't know. I mean driving with 1 hand is nice, and I do it, but what's your 2nd hand doing? It's probably resting in your lap. If it rests in my lap, I just hold the bottom part of my wheel. I usually rest my hands in my lap so I hold onto the wheel at the bottom anyways.

I mean I change radio stations and stuff and so I use 1 hand. If I feel like sticking my hand out the window, then it's 1 hand.. Otherwise, it's usually 2 hands.

I really don't know. I'm 100% comfortable driving with 1 hand, and I'm very comfortable driving ont he highway with no hands (I practiced going to and from work for 2 months straight with no hands), so it's not like I can't, I just choose to be safe =P

Only when I spot a police car near me.

They don't care. Driving with two hands is not a law. "10 & 2" is merely a suggestion. Hell, I see police drive with one hand.

Yeah I couldn't stand the 10 and 2 o'clock position, so I never even bothered to get used to it. I've been driving 9 & 3 since day 2. My arms get tired otherwise.
