Rarely. To scroll-arrow. I roll that wheel all the time though when browsing because I like big fonts.

mx revolution user

mouse wheel = mouse wheel

button below mouse wheel = f2. i set it to that when i had to do a lot of file renaming. now i just set all voice comms to f2.

never, i remapped middle button to oneof the thumb buttons. i prefer a non squishy click. too easy to roll mouse wheel or tilt it if you push down, and the extra effort not to is annoying so its best to remap

yea most wheel clicks are about as unergonomic as it gets...you really have to mash that thing.

In my CS-playing days, I mapped the middle button to my secondary fire so I could use my right button to activate the mic.

Now, I don't play many games, but I use my middle mouse button all the time. I've found I like Microsoft's basic mice's middle mouse buttons better than the button I have on my Logitech VX Revolution.

I have a MS wheel mouse and the wheel is very hard to press down and you have to press down in the right angle for it to actually click, so I never use it, I made the side button act as middle button. I use it mostly in FF to open links in new tabs.

I use it to open tabs and as an alternate forward key in some games.

I know someone else who does this (except he uses his right mouse button)... why do you do it? Isn't your hand on the keyboard anyway for reverse and strafe? Or do you just not strafe? The guy I know who moves with his mouse doesn't really strafe which seems crazy to me.

I middle click all the time to open a new tab in Firefox - both on my personal PC and my company-issued MacBook (external keyboard and mouse). 😉
