How often do you clean your case, cpu, and fans?

I blow everything out with canned air every month or so when the front intake filters start looking more gray than black.

hehehe reminds me of when my friend decided to dust out his computer one day, and he found a couple of mice living inside his computer. Amazingly, they squeezed through one of his open card slots on the back of the computer.

He was like "Oh, s**t!", put the case cover back on, and took the whole computer across the street to the empty field and waited til the mice left.

That was rather humane.

I clean mine when the mood strikes me, or when I change things in it. Maybe twice /month.

Positive case pressure and filters on your intake fans will make a huge difference.

On the Cosmos S, the front bezels are actually filters for the front intake fan/fans - I will use canned air on them once or twice a week as I notice it turning light gray.

Beyond that, I am in the case every few weeks for whatever reason and I try to blow out any dust that has accumulated which is usually not very much.

I just built a positive pressure mod with a Filtrete furnace filter for my old Antec 300b case. After a few weeks (so far), it seems to be staying dust-free.

that happened to a customer of mine... a mouse was hanging out inside the computer snacking on pot seeds found near the computer area busted!

Oh and I use a set of these to clean computers... works absurdly well.

Ever since then, I make a point with every computer I build or do maintenance on to make sure all the slots have covers. The mice didn't phase me too much. It's what they left behind that grossed me out, so I imagine they've been there awhile. Glad it was his computer, not mine.

I usually use canned air to blow everything out every couple weeks or so. I have a Cosmos now which has dust filters on the intakes, but I added an extra 140mm fan to the front after knocking out the metal-plates on each drive-bay. It does have mesh drive bay covers that collect dust, and when they have a nice coating of dust, I know it's time.

Yeah I know what you mean, as soon as I saw mouse poop on top of the video card I had to dig up some slot covers and bend the case so that everything fit tight and mice couldn't get in there!
