How often do you clean the inside of your case?

I want to start keeping it neat, since I got the SX antec case. How often and what do you use?

the antec 330 is darn near silent. most likely you don't need more than 330 unless you're running a raid 50 array of cheetahs

i try not to clean my case because every time i do dust gets lodged somewhere and starts causing problems.

I clean my case about every three months. Contrary to popular opinion, I use my home vacuum w/the soft furniture brush on it, and compressed air out of the can to blow out the fins on the HS. Works great. A clean system runs cooler, benchmarks higher and helps you lose weight. :Q ;)

It's not the neatest in the world, but I don't have a window, so I'm not worried about it's looks. My AIRFLOW is great and that's what matters. Notice no cables over the mobo, nor anywhere near the CPU?

I use Antec sx 800 series case.

under the lower front panel is a rectangular area that is perfect to hold a sheet of furnace filter material (loose fiberglass) for a filter. (Antec's filters are useless!)

I change that filter every month or two (on a hardwood floor -> dust and a cat in the house ->hair always floating around)

so far, haven't needed to clean out the case... but I wouldn't do it on a schedule anyway. I look at it and if it is dirty.... I clean it!

(If you are curious about the filter I described, PM me and I can link you up to a pix)

PS: before I started filtering the air, I did the vacuum cleaner thingy too.... worked great. UNPLUG THE MACHINE FIRST!

I clean mine every week when I feel in the "mood". My case's side panel is so screwed up now, the screws don't help much but barely help keep the panel in place. I really need an Antec case with the built in locking mechanism so I don't have to use screws.

yeah, the Antec cases I have are big, heavy and (very) ugly, but if you are in and out of if a lot, they're hard to beat.

Sooner or later, I'm hoping the cases with nice form AND function will become priced reasonably enough to warrent their use.

the performance series SX630II is the one I would have instead of these if they had been available at the time. (just a bit smaller, but fine for what I need.... different PSU would be needed though)

All my currently "in use" rigs are the 1040/1040-clones. Best out there, IMHO. The only thing that would make them better would be to have two, 120mm fan spaces; one up front, low, the other up high, rear.

The removeable drive cages and the CDs on drive rails are just the bomb. Can't beat the ventilation of these cases either. Well, you COULD, but that would entail having four, 80-mm Tornado fans. :Q
