I usually talk to my mom on the phone once a month, sometimes more, sometimes less. Usually I call her. She's busy.

The last time my dad called to talk to me was a few years ago. He called twice in one week and I was amazed (2 times in ONE week!). I think it was because I went to Europe for the summer the following week.

I talk to both of them more when I go home to visit once a year or so.

It would probably drive me crazy if either of them called every day... or every week for that matter.

I'm slowly whittling away at the frequency. It used to be once a week, but my parents have slowly adjusted to once every two weeks. The eventual goal is once every couple of months with emails back and forth during that time. I hate talking on the phone...

Probably at the longest, every two weeks or so. Sometimes more, like this week for instance. I think we've talked three or four times this week. I was on the phone with my dad for about 2 hours last night. Email every couple days, too, especially with my mom.

I have a friend whose Dad is like that. My friend will get a call on his cell phone, look at the number and then not answer it. It's funny because his brother does the same thing. PWNED by his own sons.

Is there ever going to be a Wisconsin meet or what?

And quite often to your father-in-law, as we learned above.. ;)

I phone with 'em once a week and see them in person quarterly...the see-part will get tougher soon, as I will move from 200 miles distance to 10,000 miles :( ...well video-con ftw I guess... :)

Lola does that to her grandmother and great aunts. My Dad calls just to confirm I'm alive, I think. Our conversations are rarely longer than 30 seconds.

I'd say pretty close to daily. I have a very strong relationship with both my parents.

Once a week. Once every two weeks would feel more comfortable to me.

I talk to my father nearly daily because we're both guitar nuts and have to check up on each other's latest ridiculous purchases or new tones we're working on, etc.

I talk to my mother maybe once every two weeks or so.. typically I get the ridiculous guilt trip that starts similar to the OP: "Just... um.. making sure you're still ALIVE.. haven't heard from you in a few days.." I haven't lived with them for nearly 6 years now so I don't really quite get it but it makes me feel crappy regardless. I typically will call my father then ask to talk to her so she doesn't feel left out lol.

almost daily, probably closer to every other day (or 4 times a week i guess?). they only live an hour a way now but they used to live further... I used to call them daily in college the first couple years just to let them know i'm still alive and so they won't have the need to call me at inconvenient times...

I talk to my father once every couple of months. Things between my father and I were really bad from 1990 to about 2000, but since then, things have been getting much better.

I talk to my moms everyday....that's just the way it is....and will always be...it doesn't bother me a bit...she's my mom...and we're tight like that.

and I hope my daughter does the same when she's grown up...

actually, my mom called once, but i think it was a coincidence since she started the conversation with "do you want to consolidate your student loans?".

I talk to my parents 3-4 times a year since they moved out of TX, but I try to see my grandparents (here in town) weekly.
