How often are you late for work?

I work shift in dispatch, and I have to wait til the next person to get here to relieve me so that I can go home. They are late atleast 3 times a week (late = arriving more than 15 minutes after the time they should be here). Just wondering how late the rest of the civilian world usually is....

Never. I'm here by 05:30 every morning (6 days a week) and generally leave between 17:30 and 19:00.

I'm never late since there is never a required time I have to be in the office. However I am there between 8:30 and 8:40 every day.

(and yes, I'm a business analyst....)

I'm never late and I don't tolerate people who are chronically late.

I let them choose the time to report to work, anytime between 6 and 10 AM. All they have to do is be dependable. They learn pretty quick - if they are late 3+ times in a month, I tell them I am moving their start time a half-hour, say from 8 to 8:30, so they can once again be on time every day. Can't make it every day at 8? Then you can make it every day by 8:30 - just leave for work the same time you do now, even though sometimes you'll be early.

Eventually, even the most chronically late people decide to come in on time so they don't end up working from 10-6:30.

I don't really have a set time that I show up or leave. Usually though it's between 8:30 and 9:30am....but sometimes earlier and sometimes later.

Thats exactly what I was gonna say (even the BA part  )

I've only been late for work one time in the last 25 years.
Stopped to help a truck driver and that ran a little long. I was about 20 min. late.

Funny how the same people who are posting about "never being late for work, OHHH its so bad to do that" are posting while @ work.

These days I'm rarely ever late. Strange that when I used to live 20min from my office, I was late all the time (10-15 min). Now that I have to commute 1.5 hrs each way and adhere to a train schedule, the only times I'm ever late are when the trains are delayed (breakdowns, weather, scheduling probs) and even then I'm on a train that gets me in a half hour or so before I need to be in, so I have some leeway.

i am hardly ever late, and if i am, it is because some unforseen thing like the closing of an express way or something. Even then, i try to allow myself enough time to be early.

I hate being late for work and it annoys me no end with other coworkers are and it does not phase them at all.

If I'm more than 7 minutes late I have to make up 4 hours. Therefor I have never been late, or missed a day (make up 16hrs).

almost every day, though I'm usually within the 00-15 mark.

I'm not on the clock and no one notices when I come to work as long as I'm not super (+20-30 minutes) late.

the only time I bust my butt to get to work on time is when I know that there's a shift sitting in the office that can't go home until I get there (really only applies to saturday morning... the overnight shift can't go home until the morning shift comes in)
