How often and what time of day do you shower?

Huh, I never met anyone else that does this. I don't use dull razors though. I will use a little soap if I want a real close shave.
Try it once and see how it works. You might like it, you might not. Use an older blade, preferably one that no longer has that gel strip. My razor is a Mach 3 and the blade is about 3 months old. Shave when showering because it's easier to clean hair out of the blades. Shave very gently, but take several passes. When shaving around the sideburns, put your fingers over hair you dont want to cut (otherwise you'll accidentally cut off your sideburns).

If your skin is silky smooth after shaving, it probably means you tore off a lot of skin. My shaves are never that close. My skin doesn't get irritated, it doesn't bleed, I never use shaving cream, and I never use aftershave.

Sorry for the confusion, but I was saying I shave without cream as well. But if I use a dull razor, I don't get a close shave at all. I shave with the grain at first and then I do a second pass against the grain. I have to go against the grain, otherwise I won't pass the creditcard test.

I pretty much always shave against the grain as well. I find that shaving with a really sharp/new razor against the grain causes ingrown hairs. Like instead of doing a shitty job with stubble, it does a really good job and the hairs somehow end up growing under the skin and it gets all red and ugly and it hurts like a pimple but it doesn't pop because it's not actually filled with anything :'(

I tried shaving with the grain, and that definitely fixed the ingrown hair problem, but it seems like a sharp razor going with the grain actually does a worse job than a dull razor going against the grain. The main difference between sharp-with and dull-against is that using a dull razor costs less 😀

What is the credit card test?

One of my childhood friends (fat kid) asked for a car ride home. He lived literally 1 block away. He had a Super Nintendo so it all balanced out.

lolwut.

oh, you used him for his super nintendo?

we had an obnoxious friend, too (also kinda fat). we used him for his Sega Genesis. In fact one time another buddy and I were doing a sleepover at his place one weekend, we're in the corner playing some badass Simon's Quest on the NES or something (old NES was on a shitty TV in the corner. The Genesis was hooked up to the BADASS 28" fishbowl primo Sony tube) while the dude is out of the room. Other dude is like "So we're basically in this for the Genesis, right?" Yup!

😀

Drag a credit card edge against the grain of your beard. If it makes LOUD NOISES then your shave isn't close enough.
I just tried at this at my desk. Yep it's kinda loud 😀

I don't mind it being a bit rough. I just care that it looks clean and professional.

First thing in the morning. I like how it wakes me up.
I also shower before I go to bed if I have gotten sweaty during the day.
If I shower before I go to bed, I still shower when I get up, to wake up.

I can tell the people that don't shower in the morning. They look unkempt and disheveled.

I used to be a nightshowerer, but since I started working out (mornings before work) I started showering in the morning, even when I'm not at the gyme.

Once, morning. Occasionally twice; if I'm being particularly athletic/dirty I'll shower later in the day/before bed.
