Is that you doing that? Or someone else's video you got?

That was emailed to me almost three years ago. I would never take such a primitive approach to test the mechanical limits of hardware. It was kind of funny at the time I suppose...

that sucks...was he actually a newbie or did was he/she an established trader?

Hell yeah! Spill the beans, Minendo! I understand all that privacy and disclosure crap...but anyone this stupid NEEDS to be publically exposed so NOBODY else has to repeat your bad experience. THanks. 😉

This could be the traders first major screwup, the real question now is how will he followup with this mistake, posting their name could end up giving negative results as far him being willing to return the money.

/rubs chin
/thinks "he has a point"
/then says:

BUT, how frickin' STUPID do you have to be to make such a basic mistake, man? That's like, one of the first things I ever learned about computer parts! "Hard drives shatter like glass if you sneeze at them...simply looking at them voids the warranty."

I handle HDs gentler than I'd handle a newborn infant...there's money to be lost, you know!

I know, its hard to believe the conditions people will ship things in, of course they can take some minor abuse without damage (but shipping through any courier brings up all kinds of questionable handling methods)

heh i had a HD come pretty close to that.

but considering what i paid i tried it and it worked! not to mention the guy moved on me after he sent it so i couldnt get my money back.

If i recieved something like that now i sure in the heck would send it back and get my money back. anyone that knows how to take a HD out of a machine should know that you cant send it that way!

ps the drive i got was a 14gig WD and it still works aftwr 2 years of use 😀
