how not to demolish a building

LOL total fail.

Explosives can't be that expensive or hard to make, really? The proper way is to fine tune and all that so it falls exactly how/where you want, but if they are going to half ass it at least do it with explosives.:awe:

Hopefully the driver was ok! He bailed right before the building hit the machine, looked like he got pancaked by the building.

He should have stayed in the cab. The cabs can take a literal ton or more of wheight before they crumble.

Yeah, I don't think there's a shortage of explosives in the region. Not sure what they were thinking.

Okay, he demolishes the nearest supporting beam in front of the building. What did he expect to happen? With all the support gone, tallest part will fall towards that empty space. Stupid move in his part.

yep, building seems to "lean" to the front. He likely thought that removing demolishing that area first would cause a slight shift?

Looks like they already did some preliminary breakage on the left and right side post. Not sure why they did not just use explosives/dynamite.
Too bad this decision cost the operator his life. No wonder they wanted it demolished, building looked like crap to begin with.:\

There is some hope, from the angle it's hard to tell if the building lands on him or if he made it out. Then the camera moves so may may have made it by a hair, but things don't look good.

Wonder if the person who told him to do it is in any trouble...

In a third world country? Probably not. Labor and life is cheap...and the cost of the demolition is far more of a concern than the life of a laborer.

Hell, even in the USA, job deaths and injuries are often factored into the cost. "We can build this with only 5 people dying, 48 having severe injuries, and 680 lost time injuries."

The entire CAT machine got launched upward (you can see it if you look closely). I'm pretty sure he didn't make it.
