How much would you pay?

I'm going to hire someone to take care of some tasks around my house which will require <1 day per week, but I'm not sure how much to pay.

Tasks will include general housekeeping (laundry, dishes, vacuuming, etc).

Any input as to how much to pay? Tasks will only require working one day per week.

What do you mean by 1 day a week? 8 hrs or 1 hr. Also for a maid you are looking at about $25-50 an hour.

depends on the tasks, 100-500 bucks maybe around there somewhere?

edit: if youre piling up 7 days worth of dishes/clothes/dirt etc... it may be unrealistic to think itll all get done in 1 day.

Work will be a maximum of 6 hours per week. All 6 hours can be completed in one day and include general laundry, dishes, clean up of a bachelor.

We pay $200/mo for someone to come once a week- she's probably here 3-4 hours.

Same but they only come in every other month. It's also not laundry or anything its just, garbage, dishes, cleaning the house.

Whoever you get, make sure they are reliable --you don't want them to slip/trip on your property and sue you for all you're worth if the cleaning service/individual is not insured.

One hundred dollars seems fair. Also make sure you consider all potential tax consideration with regard to contractors if you think you need to. Probably some contracts floating around out there.

Just pay better than what it would be for them to steal from you. $100 seems reasonable, more than I would be willing to pay, but reasonable.

There are people around here who do such things for ~$50 per "visit". It would be worth it to me to get someone who may not be the cheapest, but has no desire to steal from me and is motivated to do a good job. I'd be willing to pay $100 for a good job.

You're looking at around $75 a visit. Probably double for the first visit. They're not going to spend 6 hours cleaning unless you live in a mansion. Figure about 2 hours for 2-3 people doing light cleaning.

The initial cost of bring someone into this country to take care of your abode can be a little steep. Once you get them in your house, cut out their tongue, and take their passport; the cost diminishes rapidly.
