I currently have a 4GB ipod mini which has a sying battery (I get les than 4 hours out of a full charge). I wanted to send it in to get the battery replaced, but before I spend the expensive $50 plus S&H, I want to see if there are any other options out there, and I mean places that can do it for cheaper than Apple and provide a better battery. If you know of any such places, please let me know.

Probably not... since iPods use internal batteries... (that's why iPods are a bad road to go down to).

I thought there was a lawsuit about the battery in some older ipod and ipod mini, and therefore Apple had to extend the warranty on some model.

Not really... my H10 uses a removable battery.
