How much would this flash site cost to design?

Dunno but commercial sites like this one cost low 6 figures. :)

I guess a good flash site with moderate content would be comfortably in the 5 figure range. THat's assuming you're using a dedicated web development company.
Have a few freelance flash programmers do it for you, I'm sure you could do it for a lot less.

Well, I can read it, but I have to get up close to my monitor.

It's probably this crappy Trinitron monitor.

That site is designed by Eric Jordan, he's one of the worlds best flash designers. You can find him in plenty of Flash design books. I stumbled upon his site in 99 when I was looking through Macromedia's sites of the days. His skatejam2000 site was nomiated as a site of the day, I liked the site so I decided to look at his personal site. Since then it has changed at least 2 times but the theme of the site has been kept relatively the same.

I posted this site way back when someone was asking for some good professional flash sites to look at.

If you can find some good young talent then I doubt that they would charge you that much, the actionscripting behind the site probably isn't that advanced but the design is what makes his site stand out.

He also has some great wallpapers, which I currently use.

most sites that are done completely in flash are suck. 2advanced however, is good.

That's a mid-5 figure site easy (even though they did it themselves at no cost.) Probably more assuming they did the programming to tie all that content into a database somewhere. Because editing a site in flash is not an inexpensive endeavor, at least not if you're making changes regularly.

Well, I guess I'm gonna have to just resort to a flash intro and forget using Flash as a homepage entirely.

Also, I'm just gonna swing by his office since I live 10 min away.

Thanks guys,

Ethan

Have a few freelance flash programmers do it for you, I'm sure you could do it for a lot less.

Example: Amazon.com payed over $1 million for their design.

I'm sorry but I would not reccomend flash for any site. Its a passing phase and it will be outdated by a couple years.

This site is good although it's hard to read in 1024x768. Nevertheless, I don't like flash sites much.
