How Much would My CPU Bottleneck ?

i wouldn't say that as a Core 2 Duo @1.8GHz is faster than a Pentium D

So if a Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz is faster than a Pentium D 960 3.6GHz what makes you think a Pentium D 915 2.8GHz will be any faster

lol, are you that mentally challenged today? you are really making a fool of yourself at this point. that 3.6 Pentium D is roughly equal to the 1.86 core 2 duo. that is the SAME thing as a 2.8 Pentium D being roughly equal to a 1.4 core 2 duo.

I said a 2.8 Pentium D was like a Core 2 duo at 1.4 and you quoted to me to say "i wouldn't say that as a Core 2 Duo @1.8GHz is faster than a Pentium D".

not only was 1.8 never mentioned but you worded that in a way to say that 1.4 would not be any faster. I then tell you that again a 1.4 core 2 duo would match a 2.8 pentium d and your reply is a "1.4GHz Core 2 Duo would smack around a 2.8 Pentium D"

then AGAIN I say they would be about even and you link to review that even backs up what i said yet keep talking nonsense over and over and over.

proof of what? your own damn links show that a core 2 duo is roughly twice as fast clock for clock. you dont need a calculator to see that core 2 duo at 1.4 would be about equal to a pentium d at 2.8. its hilarious how you cannot even see how ridiculous your comments are.

Hey I just put together a system like this for my girlfriends sister's son.

Intel Pentium D 915 2.8GHz
1GB of RAM

Some Dell it was an old used system with onboard video.

For her child it was fine but I found the system abit sluggish and I loaded windows 7 on it. And even if you put in a decent low end videocard I don't see it being enjoyable on a rig like that.

The cpu is a big bottleneck!

yea ik that's why i just decided to use my old Fx 4100 when i get a motherboard and some ram

i'm not gonna say i'm not guying with it as i already have the parts just gonna use it as my HTPC.
