well... i'm bout to graduate from college and my parents have gotten me a pretty nice car. I do not want to park my car in my appartment parking lots tho because i fear for her safety. I have had my car broken into so someone could steal my CD player before. So I might just go around the neighborhood and see if I can rent someone's garage.

Would that be weird? U think someone would let me do that? How much would I have to pay you monthly to rent your garage?

Rent a self-storage compartment big enough for your car - about $30 a month. Problem solved.

Narrows down the list of possible suspects, at least. :p

Does this apartment complex not offer garages to rent?

probably be better to go to a rent-a-box and get a space for the car. 24/7 security and insurance in most cases.

What kind of car is it? I'd go with the self storage... but some of them aren't open 24 hours a day...

No way in hell I'd rent out my garage. I store too much stuff in there already and to hell if I'm giving a stranger access to it.

One of my friends fathers has a Viper, and rents his next door neighbors garage. My friends father owns a construction company, so the garage is filled with supplies. The next door neighbor is divorced, so the garage isn't being used by more than one of his cars. It's not too weird, just make sure you trust the guy you store it with.

You'd have to pay me at least half of what I pay for my car each month along with all the costs associated with having to clean it twice a week. All in all, that's probably about $325/mo, but others might not be so greedy :)

Yah, it's a bad idea, and I can't imagine anyone allowing it. Just get a car cover. If you're really worried about vandalism, perhaps you should move? :)

It make's no effing sense. You'd have to find someone within a block or so, because would you really want to FREAKING WALK HOME?

I wouldn't give you access to my garage. A lot of garage doors that lead inside don't have a dead bolt. I wouldn't want you coming and going as you please, and I wouldn't want to move my car to let you into MY GARAGE!!! Also, most people that don't park in their garage don't for a reason, it's either that there's a car in there, or piles of crap everywhere. It's not just empty space waiting for YOUR stuff.

Do you live in the hood? You sound nucking futs man. Besides, I'd sooner jack some custom stereo shite than some POS stock shite any freaking day. Ever hear of insurance?

It sounds like you're over reacting. Where will you park it when you go to school, work, the grocery store?

Stop being silly.

[/end rant]

Same position you are...

I go to a school 50 miles away and still no car. Luckily I have good friends that offer to drive me home.

Sorry, I know it sounds rude, I just think it's ludicrous.

My roommate is on this level of crazy, and if we lived higher off the ground, I'd throw her from the train.

Move to an Apt w/ garage or rent a townhome/home w/ garage.

Or buy a home.

Or better yet, get your parents to buy you a home, they've got money to burn apparently.

<- me = jealous, as seen in last line.
