$499 for the 4GB, $599 for the 8GB...

It may not eve be called the iPhone in the end, with the trademark dispute with Cisco.

That's with a 2-year contract with Cingular. The retail price will probably be a few hundred on top of that if you want just the phone.

I think the phone will be available in apple stores at that price too, but I'm pretty sure once you buy it you have to get it activated on cingular.

they will require activation with Cingular, and a new contract from what I understand. So if somebody wants to get the phone for Tmobile or some other GSM network they'll be out a lot of cash. Hopefully by the end of the year Verizon will carry it, I know there's no word on a CDMA version coming (ever) but I hope it does
