How much will my Geico Insurance go up?

Anyone know what % Geico usually goes up after an accident that is your fault. I was leaving a parking lot and the right side ran over the curb, I thought was over far enough. Is the % based off of how much the estimate is or is it a standard %?

Is the curb filing charges ?

I figure the damage is going to run >$1000, in which case I might claim it. I'm taking my car in after work to get the estimate done. looks like damage to the runner panel, the right front quarter panel, and the door.

My father rolled over his 2006 300c a few months back and his insurance dropped a few dollars...so I'd bet your's wont go up but a few dollars at most.

EDIT: My 2006 Civic was also hit twice, and my insurance dropped $50. Geico is ok like that.

Geico is pretty bad with surcharges. Those bastards increased my premium by $180 a month when I got a speeding ticket for 15 over.

Now I have Progressive.... Tell that funky lizard and those annoying cavemen where to stick their surcharges!

I got a ticket for 15 over with geico and my rates didn't increase at all.

How much damage did you do? Usually Geico is very forgiving. Not unless you did some really extensive damage like rip off one half of your car.

That wasn't a curb. That was a wall.

First off, find out how much the estimate is.

If you can afford it out of pocket, pay for it that way.

There is no way anybody will be able to tell you what (if at all) it will affect your rates. Being that it is a collision though, it very well could affect your rate.

Can I call Geico with the estimate and say "If I make a claim that is $X, how much will my insurance go up?"

(keyboard clicking on phone)

"Um, we don't know sir"

meanwhile they've just jacked your rates up $200 for asking.
