From what I've heard the Army is giving out enlisment bonuses for most of their jobs right now. For some odd reason they're having trouble attracting recruits...

Look into the Navy's Nuclear Field pipeline. I'm getting $16k enlistment bonus, at the 2 year mark I get $60k+ for extending my contract to 8 years.

you have to complete prototype training before you get your enlistment bonus. unless they changed the rules. good luck :)

better off asking a recruiter... i can tell you but, info does change alot.

and id just tell you to find a better job if your looking for money.

and yes, the reserve will give you enough time to work another job

It's not wise to join solely for the money and/or benefits. If you know the risks and other aspects and genuinely want to enlist, good for you and I give you my regards. However, if you join for money and then cry when you have to go fight, I'm sorry, you'll get no sympathy from me.

I am not in the Army but have been in the Marines for the past 20+ years. Let me see if I can spread some light on this subject for you.

how much is the enlist bonus? this would depend on how well you do on the ASAB test, you do not get a bonus for being a rock collector.......

how much is the monthly salary? Once more you will start off at the bottom of the pay chart, there is a difference between enlisted and officer pay, other differences would be if you are married and what location you will be stationed. Your basic pay for an E1 or E2 would be between $1,142.70 and $1384.50.

If I enlist to airforce reserve army, will I still have enough time to work another full time job during weekday? I have not heard of this branch of service, but when you join the reserve force you will conduct the drill weekends, other than that unless the unit is activated you will not work full time with the military therefor you should have a full time job.

how long is the commitment? A normal contract is for four year enlistment, though the army did try a two year contract but I do not know much about this.

If you were smart, join under one of the many officer programs, have the military pay for your schooling and then you would have a required amount of service you would have to preform.
