How much weight can a 3/4" piece of plywood withstand?

I recommend that you actually get started building it :)

Just keep adding wood, screws, and glue till the thing is sturdy and basically unmoveable, thats when you know you have a quality product. ;)

I build one support today. I also cut the notches with my jigsaw. I have decided to triple up on the top bench area. 1.5 inches of particle board held together with wood glue and 3" screws on the top should do. The first 1/2" layer will be attached using the included screws, same with the second. The third will require longer screws. I'll check out those 3" gold screws you recommended. On a side note, some of the cuts the morons at lowes made were of poor quality/off by 1/8", and they even left out a piece so far at glance. Dumbasses.
