how much was your tax refund and what'd you spend it on?

I got back $1K and change from my federal taxes and $150 from state taxes... both went straight towards my credit card bill 🙁 $800 to go till it's paid off!

I am getting $14542 back 😛 Moving expenses (due to work), tuition credits, and several other things that gave me good credits. Most, if not all of it is going to go towards home renovations to the new house we moved into about 9 months ago.

Edit: only about $10000 will be put towards renos, the other money will go partially to my daughter's RESPs, and partly into our rainy day funds.

Owed 500 federal, got back 1400 state (because of city tax withholding that I can't control).

Still pisses me off when I pay over 40K in taxes every fucking year.

We got back $357, bought a new muffler for the Neon and just left the remainder in the checking acct. We screwed up on our W4s when we got married, didnt change it to married but withhold at single. so we didnt get much back. At least we didnt owe.

Funnily enough, I haven't bought a thing. All of a sudden, I am addicted to saving money; it's kind of weird how much I am obsessing about it.

706 buckaroos. No debt and I don't need anything at the moment though I plan on buying a bicycle before summer.

Be grateful you live in a country where you can earn enough money to face that size of tax bill. 😉

Haven't got one back yet. Made a mistake on the taxes and it's being held up. Already have a 1040X ready to go.

Money, if any, goes in the bank for the "layoff" fund.

Got back $4600 federal and $800 from Georgia. Picked up some stock (Citi and AIG), new grill, and paid off my CC that was about to have the 0% expire.

$815 from state, $425 from fed. I was going to use both to pay off a no interest credit card that we bought a TV on last year, but one of our dogs got sick, so I had to use the $425 for that. Put the $815 on the credit card.
