how much walnuts to eat per day

so I was reading online and it seems that of all the nuts, Walnuts is one of the most powerful ones in helping lower cholesterol, prevent heart diseases, etc etc.

I want to incorporate this into my daily lunch diet, but I dont know how much. some sites says a 'handful,' but I really dont know how much that is. Is it per day? throughout the day? And I"m buying whole walnuts, so that makes it even harder to measure.

anyone have any thoughts?

eat almonds too. more monounsaturated fats than walnuts, so better for fixing a cholesterol problem. generally 1 serving of nuts is about 1/4 cup or a smallish handful.
