I got a HUGE nail sucked up by the vacuum cleaner... It got lodged in the sweeper area and now theirs smoke coming out of the vacuum... I took the screw out, but the smoke problem wont go away (and the brush wont spin)... Anyone know how much this is gonna cost me? Its a 3 month old $200 dirt devil vacuum 🙁

You need to take the cover off, dislodge the nail, and replace the belt. The store you bought it at carries the belts. About $3.

And now you know for sure, that nail was too big. 🙂

Thanks, the nail was about 3 inches long 🙁

I bought it at bestbuy but i'll check walmart for the belts...

You'll probably have to find a store to get the belt. They always screw you on repairs. If the belt wont fix it, buy a new vaccuum. Seriously. It won't be worth the reaming you'll get and satisfaction you'll give them to let them repair it.

Welp i opened her up and it is my belt, completely severed and smelling like burning rubber (YUCK).... Thanks for the help, now to heat to Walmart to get the new belt.. 🙂
