How much to charge?

So I started getting into this "business" of building computers for people I know. Before I was doing it for free and what not but working and school and it isn't worth it to do it for free....

Just recently I got about 8 computers to build and I've been charging only 10% - 15%

Was wondering what you guys charge, or how you guys handle this?

15% sounds fine to me. maybe you want to bump it up to 20% if you continue getting the same (or more) volume of business.

It depends. If you're just building them, then 15% sounds reasonable. If you are expected to give technical support in case these computers ever have a problem, you should take that into account and charge accordingly.

man its going to suck when they all come whining to you for their computer problems. i would charge 200%, and i still probably wouldnt do it just to save myself the headaches.

winnar!

dont do it. you may be able to build a flawless computer, but no flawless computer can withstand the fvcktards of the world. save yourself the hassle, no amount of money is worth having to deal with the future headaches.

you have a point but I have bills to pay and it seems people really like cases that glow and it wins them over haha. I've been making 100 a comp but after doing about 20% profit its jumping to about 220ish...

I give them 90 day "on-site" for free and after that approx. $40 - $50 an hour and they're cool with it.

Any other suggestions on making money, and yea I do have a job, just $3,800 in debt.

i wouldnt give 90 days for free
people can screw up a pc multiple times in 90 days and cost you a ton of time depending on what goes wrong

help yourself by removing any shortcut to internet explorer, outlook, and adding a free virus scanner and spyware monitor and firefox/tbird or mozilla
