How much tips do you give to the pizza delivery guy?

.9999999 (repeating) dollars per pizza, but double it if he can tell you the correct answer to the airplane on the conveyor belt problem.

I rarely order pizza, but when I do I give anywhere from 5 to 9 dollar tips for a single pie. It depends on how much the pizza costs, I always give a 20 and tell them to keep the change.

i had a cute female delivery pizza drivers i told her i would give her only the tip..but she wanted the whole shaft! :Q

Ouch. I'd give at least $5 if they had to walk up 5 floors, or I'd meet them downstairs. That's pretty harsh.

I never tip less than $5.
The delivery charge IS NOT a tip, guys!
Sometimes the store gives the driver a small percentage of it, but it is very little.
Think about it, the guy (or gal) is using their own personal vehicle, buying their own gas, paying their own insurance & saving you time & gas to go pick it up yourself. All for the princely sum of $5.15 per HR. The tips are their gas, etc. money and anything left is helping them earn a decent wage!
Would you like it if your work made you drive your own car for 4-7 hrs a day without any compensation?
I didn't think so.

Never tipped anyone in my life, and never will. They get paid a wage just like the rest of us.

For most wait staff they hardly make a wage without tips.

Last I remember hearing they make like way under the min wage to begin with (and not against the law) and count on our tips to make any kind of living. If you think for one minute that that nice woman serving you your food is making $10-$12 an hour ontop of tips you are sorly mistaken. I wouldnt doubt that they are making maybe $4 or less per hour as some joints. Dont believe me feel free to ask one next time and im sure they will tell you freely what they make and hard it is to make any kind of life without being tipped correctly.

Your delivery person makes around $6-$8 and hour ontop of tips and with gas prices the way they are when I used to have pie delivered I was tipping $5 because I used to do it as well and can feel for the guy when he has to deliver to a asshole like you 😉

He's in New Zealand. The US has a pretty unique tipping system compared to the rest of the world.

They all think we over-tip, but what they do not realize is that waiters in the US make less than minimum wage and are fully supported on tips alone.

I prefer the US tipping system. It makes the CUSTOMER the boss of the waiter and provides true, immediate incentive for the waiter to try as hard as possible to please the customer, lest he not get paid at all.

Also, most bartenders and beer tub girls make nothing BUT tips.

As for my answer to the OP, I tip $2 per pie for delivery.

I don't even want to post in thread when I see grammer like that. Oh wait...

What about spelling errors?

Anyway, I like to tip a buck or two but I don't have much extra spending money these days. The last two times I ordered the guy got less than $.50, IIRC. I kinda feel bad about it, but I order very rarely and money's tight. It's cheaper to get frozen pizzas or drive to the shop myself

Usually around 4-5... the delivery guys here make minimum wage and have to pay some of all or their own gas so they don't make much at all, most of their wage goes right back into into the car.

If the pizza is there in a decent amount of time usually 20-25% of the total.
If its late or they get my order wrong ill just give them a couple of dollars

I give $2 for delivery, unless they charge me a delivery charge (like papa johns) then I figure they alreay charged me so I don't tip and I let them know why.

i usually dont give em sh!t, its not my fault there a delivery driver, or ill just drive there myself and pick it up-

AH!
Wait staff in resturaunts are a whole different ball game.
Did you know that in the US (Most States), waters & waitresses make considerably BELOW minimum wage?(Some states have their own minimum wage)
And on top of that, their employer is obligated to add XX% of their total sales to their W2s, under the assumption that everyone tips. So these folks have to pay taxes on money they don't even make (if you don't tip)!
