How much time would you spend on the commute for school?

One school I'm considering (University of Toronto) is in the lower part of Toronto and where I'd stay is the very northern part of the city (free rent). I'd end up spending 1.5 hours each way (total 3 hours daily) and I don't think I'm willing to spend more then 1 (maybe 1.5) hours daily to commute.

If I go to university in a city like Waterloo I could live nearby the school and have a relatively short distance to go (15 mins both ways).

How much time did/do/will you spend commuting to school ?

Work is kind of different because you are getting paid so its worth it. On the other hand a good school is worth the commute too I guess? Hrm

Public (TTC)
I'd venture to say it might even hit up to 2 hours in winter depending on how much walking I have to do once I get off the TTC and walk around campus to the first class.

I would stay a couple blocks west of downsview park (if you know where that is)

bleh its official

11:35 and the application had to be done by midnight for UofT :p (March 1st)

definitely not going now but thats okay cause I didn't like Toronto (the city) for the 1 year I stayed there let alone 4 more, and the commute would royally blow heh

I guess I'm kind of spoiled in that I can commute to campus in just over 5 minutes (unless I get stopped at every single light on the way :p ) and then catch the bus from the parking lot to class. Total out my door to class time is usually around 20 minutes, which is entirely reasonable considering where I lived last year on campus was close to 15 minutes walking. I don't think I'd want to commute more than 15-20 minutes to the actual campus. I go to campus a lot outside of actual classes for group meetings and things like that and I wouldn't want to be making that trip more than I had to.

I will have about a 45 min each way drive to school next year. This year it is about 20 minutes if I do it in my sleep, if I am good and awake then I can do it in 10.

I commute 35 miles, about 50 minutes to college. I also work 5-6 hours/day in the same location so it is worth the trip.

3+ hours for a round trip, public transportation. at least i take the bus/train at terminal stations so i can get a seat and just sleep (i can't read on bus/train). but i still try to skip entire days when possible.

been doing this for almost 3 years
