off on xmas and new years day. i'm taking NYE off though to have a nice 4 day weekend.

and they are bringing in food for us today - tacos and quesadillas HELL YEA!

Office is closed Christmas eve, and Christmas day, but I have the whole week off. I don't go back until Jan 2nd.

Normally, Xmas eve, Xmas, NYE, NYD.

But this week...I'm working all four. Triple time on the eves and more than that on the holidays.

As much as I don't want to...I couldn't turn down the pay.

Our studio closes every year for the week of Christmas. It happens that New Years will fall on a Tuesday so we're off from tomorrow till the 2nd.

I technically only get off Christmas day and New Year's day, but I took a couple vacation days. I'm off until January 2nd.

Being mostly junior to the company by the time I pick my vacation all the good ones are taken.

So Christmas time, or pretty much all of December, is out of reach. So I only get Christmas and Boxing day. I think I also get New Year day. Waiting for the next schedule to come out. Since it's a 24/7 operation I could potentially work Christmas too, but got off lucky this year.

25th, 26th, and IIRC, New Years Eve and Day.
Half day on the 24th.

We got Tony Roma's dinner today which was really nice 🙂

Almost a whole month. Which is too long. i'm gonna get lazy and stupid, like all the other college kids.
Also, this free time has let my mind wander a lot. And I've been having nightmares.

Just Christmas day officially but I hardly use my 4 weeks of vacation plus 6 personal days so I end up using them all in December. I've been off since 12/12/12.

I worked until 4PM today and now I'm off until Thursday of next week. Company is shut down all next week but I'm going in on Thursday and Friday to get caught up on some things.

0. I'm an attorney. I work when my clients need me to work. Which last year was on Christmas AND New Years.

I work 12/20-12/25, get 12/26-12/31 off. We have 24/7 shift coverage, someone's gotta do it. christmas is 1+1/2 at least...

I'm off Sat & Sun ( I work every other weekend) I work Mon, have Tues off, work Wed.. not terrific but my boss did approve a week off so I can go to CES next month so I'm not complaining.

Today was the last day for me until Jan. 2nd. Was told that I have to use vacation for the 4 "non paid holiday" days off unless I didn't want to get paid and then was told that I would have to work on Saturday for up to 16 hours on the 5th and not get paid for that day since I'm salary. Needless to say, I was not happy about that.

I thought the point (and labor law) of salary was to get the same pay whether you work 20 hours, 40 hours or 80 hours. Apparently, my boss thinks that only works over 40 hours and you should be docked for anything under 40. Bah Humbug indeed.

For reference: I get 10 vacation (no sick) days per year (and it will be another 4.75 years before I bump up to 15). I really would hate to burn 4 of my 10 days right off the bat considering that my anniversary date is Oct. 11th, which is when I start over each year with vacation.

I'll be simply trying to rest during the days off. I just feel worn out all the time (maybe something is medically wrong with me). We get paid for Christmas Eve, Christmas day and New Year's day (not New Year's eve).

Merry Christmas and enjoy your time off ATOT.

I will be on working or on call (have to be at work within 1 hour if a job calls in) from the 17th to the 31st.

I will be spending Christmas alone just as I did thanksgiving. hopefully get to see my family in the spring.

some industries are 24/7/365.

Salary is suppose to be the same for any hours worked. We have a policy where we have to work at least 7.5 hrs a day but that's an understatment. Usually it's more like 9-10hrs and on call. But our manager doesn't really want us there more than 40hrs a week if not needed but it's always more.

I get Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Years day off as paid Holidays. Dec 26, 27, 28 and are mandatory holidays, which means that I am forced to use my vacation days. We get 25 days of combined vacation and sick time so I can't really complain about that.

I am also taking Jan 2-4 by choice so I won't be going back to work until Jan 7.

Due to a nice set of circumstances, Friday (21st) was my regular day off (we work a compressed schedule, of eight 9's and an 8, and get every other Friday off). I was going to take Monday off (vacation day), but our big boss gave us that day off.

So I'm ending up with F-Sa-Su-M-Tu off.
Then I work W-Th-F, and get Sa-Su-M-Tu off (Monday vacation day).
Then I work W-Th, and get F-Sa-Su off.

So for this past week, Christmas week, and New Years week, I'll be working this schedule: 4 on/5 off/3 on/4 off, 2 on, 3 off. Love it!! :awe:
