Quite rarely, maybe twice or thrice a month. Usually only at restaurants where they have the fountain drinks where I do splurge. I stay well away from diet sodas, the aftertaste is horrible.

As of now, I haven't had any soda at all for the week. Though lately, I've been fond of mixing sparkling water and cranberry juice.

My family, however, downs the sodas insanely quick. 2 or 3 sodas each a day.

Am I reading it correctly? 6 liters of regular soda a day? D:

And I thought my 1 can a day or so is too much.

Yes, but in my case, it's diet. Can't stand regular pop (none of this soda shit).

I don't drink as much as I used to. Been trying to replace it with water and have been having a good go at it. Used to drink a can or two a day, now down to just on weekends. I do a TV shoot on Saturday nights which is really the only time I drink it, since it comes wit the pizza.

Then there's my dad who drinks up three cans of Coke a day, and has done this for as long as I can remember. He rarely drinks anything that's non-carbonated besides coffee. I really don't know how he does it. He's completely desensitized to caffeine. Even downs a can right before bed. My mom has got him on club soda recently. It's a big improvement as long as he doesn't flavour it.

waaaaaaaaaay too much, I mean exceptionally unhealthy levels...

I really should stop drinking that crap.

Same and I should stop, but that's probably never gonna happen. As in a 12 pack lasts me maybe two days (that's being generous).

Where I use to work we had a Fortran programmer who had a mini fridge in his office and would power down a case of Mt Dew, or sometimes Pepsi every single day. He told he he'd started doing this in the mid 70's. I haven't seen him in ages, but a few months ago I asked a friend who still works there and was told like clockwork he's still pounding 3 Mt Dews an hour.

I always thought a group of doctors and scientist should study him. He's gotta have well over 150,000 cans of soda under his belt.

Quite a bit. Dr. Oz is a quack. He gets a lot of criticism from the scientifically literate crowd. He is terrible.

I drink at least a liter or two a day. Diet only.

This.

I drink a can or two a day of diet (Coke Zero). I rarely have regular soda. The exception being Sprite with a meal out every now and again.

The ignorance by people and fear-mongering perpetuated by the media on slow news days for Diet Soda is laughable, and without almost any scientific merit whatsoever.
About the WORST thing about Diet Soda is that it may potentially in some people inhibit ability to judge caloric intake, or trigger "sweet tooth" cravings. Meaning, of course, the soda itself does NOT make you "fat", but may potentially in some people" make you want a donut more.
It's also acidic, which over a long period of time, can be tough on your tooth enamel if you consume large amounts daily.

Other than that, the science just isn't there, and it becomes a matter of "well...that sounds scary either way, I don't care what science says!" attitude that infects pop culture.

Barely one can a week of Pepsi ThrowBack.

Now, if you'd asked about coffee consumption, that'd be another story.

Used to drink a lot up to clearing half of those liter bottle a day. Went cold turkey two years ago banning all HFCS drinks from the house so now mostly water and occasional watered down juice.

Usually a 1.5L bottle of Orangina over the course of a week.

Occasionally I get a Soda when eating out as well, but not in France usually, as tap water suits me well, and is usually served without even having to ask for it.

0. Some weeks I may have 1-2 if offered a Coke or something while visiting someone else's home. I don't buy it though.

I only drink Water, Beer, Vodka. Occasionally a Gatorade or something if on a run or something.

Probably 6-12 oz/week. Friday night is pizza night, gotta have a little soda.

I drink mainly water, 48-96oz/day, a few cups of coffee/day, sometimes tea.

About 14 cans a week. Far less than I used to, they started giving me heartburn if I drank them between meals.

As a child and teen I can swear that soda is about ALL I'd ever drink. That didn't change until age 23 or so.

I am watching Dr. Oz now and he says that diet soda is just as bad as regular soda due to artificial sweeteners.

I ONLY consume Coca Cola on Weekends and usually on Friday and Saturday night to mix with my rum. I only drink coke (soda) as a rum mixer and NEVER for anything else.

So I roughly consume 2 liters (67 ounces or roughly 6 cans of coke)) of regular Coca Cola a week.

So how much soda do you consume in a week more or less?

a 2liter of coke zero every 2 days
so 1 liter/day

About (3) 2-liter bottles a day :-/

and I thought I was bad

google the article about the woman that died because she drank multiple liters of soda/day

edit:
woah.. doing the math, three 2liters = ~200oz = 25cups of liquid per day?!

how are your kidneys still functioning?!
