I take it you've never used Craigslist before. Even when you have "firm price, no trades" people will still make offers.

And medium rare.

There are a handful of people who will offer you ten bucks when you're trying to get 200, but most people will just skip over a post that isn't a price they want.

Is it any particular brand? Generally, sets like that - with all six chairs still in decent shape - sell for a bit more than if it was just a table, or just the chairs (combined). I would bet you could get between $200 and $300 for the set.

Re: "omg, you can't get solid oak for that price" - I'm not sure, but I think there are more oak trees in this area (and certainly, more Amish craftsmen) than pine trees. I've seen solid oak trestle and clawfoot tables sell for just a couple hundred.

It is known that furniture has a huge markup. So, if you get someone not trying to triple the actual cost, it isn't too bad.

Again, you've demonstrated that you have never used Craigslist. Just because you're too pussy to make an offer on that full length mirror with a side of medium rare, doesn't mean most people are.

Paid a grand for a coffee table plus two side tables. Vinyl encased mdf...

A great deal of people hate haggling. I've been doing adhoc business for years, sugartits.

OP, I don't know anything about furniture but I think it looks nice! I would think if you listed it for 200 - 250 it wouldn't last long, but then again I've never used craigslist either.

the pictures aren't clear, but it could be worth well upwards of a grand. if you could UL pics of the top finish (near the seams if it has any), the underside of the table, underside of chairs, then i could give you a figure.
