Leaving at 4:00 PM, returning at Midnight. Leaving again at 3:00 AM returning at 10:00.

As a result, the babysitter is spending the night at the house.

The kids (2) will be awake from 4:00 PM till 9:00PM and will wake up around 7:00 AM.

It will be eight hours with the children and ten hours with them asleep that she also can sleep in.

How much should this cost?

I want to make sure to pay her enough that she'll want to do it again but not too much as I'm slightly tight for cash.

Where are you located? I pay $20 a day for a private babysitter + food expenses. Some places it can be 50+ per day

At least. And I would throw in a dinner that she doesn't have to cook for her and the kids. A $20 and a pizza menu should do it.

Yeah, but OP's in California. I'm gonna say $12-13/hr + food expenses.

$20/day!? I don't think I'd ever leave my kids (if i had them) w/ anyone for $20/day.

id pay 180, its 18 hrs at 10 hrs and give her 20 bucks for pizza or chinese take out. its two kids which means they might be double the trouble. i say you could go 150 and 20 for pizza but thats sorta lowballing it in my area. it doesn't really matter that you will be back at mn and leaving at 3. she doesn't get to take a union required lunch break or anything. pay however you would for an overnighter.

Age/situation of babysitter? You might be able to get away with no more than $50. Ages of your children?

This all depends on the sitter... if its some 14 year old girl... 50 bucks + pizza?

If its like a professional service or something then yeah... its gonna cost ya like 2 bills.

the question is... how much do YOU love your children??

more money /= more love.

Paying more than $50.00 plus cost of food ANYWHERE in the USA and you will be spending too much. There comes to a point where you dont pay by the hour but by the job and this is definitely that situation.

That's a day of work, away from home for the sitter. I'd pay $100 + food money.
