based on your ability to be secretive, you might not progress past janitor.

You need to pay cash to use that site and I'm not coughing up dough for it because it's not worth it :\

Umm, no you dont, I used it without paying a cent

# Late, AM & weekend work occasionally required for scheduled off-hour maintenance.

Sounds fun.

$55k Max

That's kind of what I was thinking. I work a job JUST like that right now, so it's not a big deal but at least I'd be at a better company and closer to home. My commute now is 1.5 hours EACH way, and this job is like .... 5 minutes from my house.

Well that just settles it man!

10-20min round trip Vs 3hrs!

NO BRAINER.

BUT do you work the same hrs? Saving at least 3hrs a day on travel = 15hrs a week is a lot. But having to work late, am and weekends sometimes could be a big decider for you.

That's why I have to get all of the details.

We will see :)

Might as well link the actual listing:

AskJeeves: Positions

Of course, now with this kind of exposure it's not so much as whether you're qualified for the position but whether everyone else who see's the position is more qualified than you ;).

Good luck!

Well, apparenlty your "in" isn't all that capable; being that you're asking an interent forum what the position should salary. And eh, I don't quite need an in. Gainfully employed Thank you.

FTW: If you get an inverview; when asked to describe a situation that you feel you did not handle well <------ point at this thread ;). Of course, being that it comes up in Google and Jeeves now, they might already have it for reference.

55 is kind of high for Tech Support even with off hour work.

I would say 40 - 45k depending on whether you maintain the servers yourself.

This is closer to the high estimate you can bargain fo, especially if your experience in years is not reflective of the requirements.

No lower than 30k. Probably no higher than 45k (I highly doubt any company would pay 55k if your experience isn't of fthe wall on regular IT Tech Support side). It isn't an analyst/programming job from the descriptions. Where is Piscataway anyways? Because cost of living is an important factor. If Mid-West, you shouldn't aim high. If West coast, Washington, aim a little higher on the 30-45 range. New York, 45k could be reasonable.

Anybody that says less is getting paid too little.
Yep, even with location and living expenses that ballpark is about right.

Thanks for the info guys.. I will be coming to the table with 50-55k then, just as my own personal ballpark because if I even get 50k (which is less than I make now), subtracting commuting expenses will pretty much cover that deficit.
