16GB, DDR3 1600mhz, 1.5V. Brand take your pick, corsair, crucial, g.skill, geil.....The few times I've had to use warranty/customer service I will say crucial is top notch in that area.

Are you overclocking? I have been a loyal Crucial customer for the last 12 years and just recently purchased G. SKill sniper low voltage (1.2v, 16gb, 1600mhz)and have zero complaints.

On another note, why would you have so many IE tabs open at one time?

Whatever brand and speed you choose, get 16GB. Better to have it.....well, you know.

i use firefox which likes to eat memory but it has gone down mostly

i just multi-task big time and do continual stuff.i actually have more than 100-150 many times and don't ask about bookmarks

its like Home office, all things at one place

What is your price range ?
what system is this going in ? How many ram slots do you have ?

I'd say 8GB minimum, 16GB if it's not out of your price range.
G.skill and mushkin are my favorites lately

RAM is so cheap, 16GB should be pretty much the norm. But use 64-bit OS or 16GB will be wasted. Of course you'll know that.

24gb for $100 :) don't worry about speed.

If possible use ECC - it is a little slower but man with that much ram you'll bit-flip every day
