Question How much radiator for 3090 and 5950k?

I'm going to reuse my Enthoo 719 case for a Ryzen 9 5950X and 3090 build.

Currently I have a 45mm x 480 and a 45mm x 360 that cooled a Threadripper 3970X and 2080 Ti. I'm thinking of just going with the 60mm x 480 in push/pull only since the 5950X is much less power hungry. That steps up the thickness in exchange for two separate radiators.

Depends on how you like your coolant temps.

If you're going to apply an all core overclock to the 5950x it can draw >200W without a lot of effort. Between that and the 3090s increased TDP over the 2080ti, there's a chance you really won't be seeing a significantly lower overall cooling bill vs. your previous system.

I'd want at least 5-6 fans worth of radiator. Right now the loop I'm planning is for 9 (3x360mm) which is a little excessive, but I personally wouldn't use less than 2x360 or equivalent.

Mine is for a 5950x and a 6900xt.

basic water cooling calculator is 150W / 120mm for a ~ 7 Delta @ 1gpm flow using Yate Loon DSH as STD.
Yate Loons id say are on close to par to probably Noctua F12 series in the amount of air they can move. Although Noctua is probably better constructed for durability and longevity.
Its a dayam shame you can't get Yates anymore anywhere.

So take that number and whatever you feel comfortable at.
Pull out max TDP's and add 20% for each stage fan speed you go down.... like High = TDP Medium = 20% + TDP Low = 40%+TDP and you should be good.

I'm running three radiators for a 5900X and 3090 FE. One Hardware Labs GTX 360, a hardware labs GTS 480, and an EK XE 360 (push/pull) and its enough to keep water temps at ~10c delta t, with 1000 rpm fan speeds, while gaming. Using the same fan profiles and running prime 95 and heaven for one hour the water temps spike up to ~12c delta t. I can keep the GPU temps to ~47-52c depending on the game and CPU temps are extremely low even when running all core workloads including ~75c with cinebench (PBO+Auto OC). The CPU boosts to 5.1ghz single core without issue and all core boost (depending on the application) can get up to 4.75 ghz without manual OC. Max system power is north of 570 watts so its a lot of heat.

Edit: This is before I reconfigured my loop with a new res and layout and now I am dealing with pump pressure issues using a single D5. Apparently my loop is too restrictive for just a single pump. Just ordered an additional D5 + pump top to ensure flow rate and pressure is back to nominal levels.

Edit 2: All of the above is in an Enthoo 719 case!
