I have an Athlon 64 3000+ (Processor In a Box), with kernel Winchester. I would like to know how much can I push it without need to change heatsink?

Thanks:)

Between 10 and 20% of the original clockspeed. So, if it is 2 GHz, expect to reach 2.2~2.4 GHz.

not really YMMV (Your mileage May Vary)

ive got a week 51 3500+ winchester and i was lucky to be able to hit 2.5Ghz .. alot of people with this week core only got about 100/200mhz OC ...

but some people like Duvie purchase a 1.8Ghz 3000+ and OC to over 2.6Ghz .. so you never know really..

what week is it this .. if you have not installed it yet .. it will be etched into the top of the CPU, it will be on the second line of text and look somthing like this

xxxx 0451 CBBID

this means year 04 (2004) and week 51 in that year (they're 52 weeks in a year ;))

at the end of the day just follow Zebo's Guide and when you get stuck just post back with you Q's

I got my 3000+ Winchester from stock 1.8Ghz up to 2.5Ghz with the standard HSF that comes with the Retail Boxed version (had to bump the Vcore from 1.4 to 1.475 to run Prime torure test error free for 24 hours).

I currently have been running the same chip at 2.4Ghz for the past 5 months at stock 1.4V Vcore (24 hour Prime error free) which is a nice safe 33% Overclock because it is running at stock Vcore.

Some people have reached 2.65 Ghz with this chip with stock HSF, NF3 based mobo's seem to do better then the Via Pro chipset mobo's like my Abit AV8.
