How much on average does installing a new phone jack cost?

My computer and DSL connection is located in my room.

However the family computer is not so it currently has no internet connection.

My room is super crowded and I would like to move my machines into our spare room with the family machine.

I have a switch, etc... so all I would need is for the phone company to install a phone jack in the spare room.

How much do these things usually cost?

i had a company called addajack install a few for me, it was cheap, seems to me like excellent quality and he did it real fast. i live in Houston Texas so i dont know if they exist anywhere else, but i do recommend them to anyone in Houston.

I live in King, NC close to the Winston Salem/Greensboro area...

I just want to make sure that the quality is good and my DSL doesn't suffer because of a crappy install.
So you think I could get it done for less than $100?

The cost depends entirely on how much wire pulling they have to do. Installing the jack itself is the least concern and you can easily do it yourself.

how do they do the wire pulling?

the spare room is right beside my bedroom. The house is a two story, with full basement and attic. The bedrooms are on the second floor. I could just drill a hole through the wall but my parents don't like that ideal and want to have it professionally done.

if you can splice wires and drill a couple holes, you can do that yourself. Nothing to it. The only tricky part is getting the stuff strung through the walls

i would just pop the baseboard, drill a hole through the wall, run the wire through it, and but the baseboard back on. the screw the wire into one of those phone block things..
but then again im to impatient to wait for someone to install it for me!

I can wait awhile, but if its going to cost to much I'll find away to do it myself.

Its just "house work" and me don't mix 😀 lol...
