So I bought a 4GB Ipod Nano "generic" from a guy who apparently has quite a large number to sell. It was $48 shipped How much of an idiot am I?
edit: this was from ebay and it supposedly works just like a flash drive, don't need itunes for it. also plays videos and display pictures.
Am I allowed to link? I don't want anyone thinking I'm advertising for this guy. I don't even know if it's going to work out or not, but I was stoked to get this thing for this price.

Let me know if I need to remove this link.
edit: update on 10/30/06 - So I formatted it and it was indeed 4GB. It actually came in an IPOD box and has the apple/ipod inscribed on the device. Plus when you turn it on the Ipod/Apple screen comes up. However the menus are different from a real IPOD. The only problem I now have is that it doesn't hold a charge. Battery lasts like 3-5 minutes and that's it
--- I have a feeling it's going to be like pulling teeth to get a replacement, I'm tempted to buy a $8 battery from ebay and try it.

edit: update on 11/17/06 --- So I bought a $8 replacement battery for it. Had a buddy sodder the thing in and it's good to go. I'm still getting used to the interface. It doesn't have "play lists" per se, but you can make folders and put the MP3s in the folders. Then set the player to play only that folder or play from every folder. If you want the song in multiple "playlists" you just have to put a copy of the song in multiple folders. The ear buds aren't great but aren't horrible, I think they just don't fit my ears very good b/c when I press them in my ears they sound decent but they seem to flop out a little.
Over all, a 4GB MP3 player for around $58 shipped is a hot deal to me. Now we'll see how long it lasts...heh.
