Like I've said before, even if M$ shoves their entire billions and billions of dollars in the Xcrap 360, if the don't have good game support, the "system will crash." The best example is clearly Nintendo and Sega. Sega actually had the better hardware but Nintendo had the game support. Guess who won out?

I'm waiting for XBox 720 or XBox 1080.

I'm confused.....other than the first party titles exclusive to Microsoft and Sony's system, 95% of the titles on the market will be available for either system. And on paper, Sony has the "better" system.

I'm curious, when was the last time you used 4 controllers at the same time?

You are kidding right? 😕

Ahahahahahahahahaah...

No, I'm serious. What games do you play that make good use of 4 controllers? I don't own an Xbox, and of my friend that do, none have used the 4 controller feature that I'm aware of. I'll find out for sure tommorrow though.

You must not have a lot of friends that like games then. 😛

I remember playing 4 player N64 and 4 player Dreamcast all the time, as in usually once every 2 weeks (at least) for about 2-3 years. 🙂

They've since moved away, and now most of my gaming is done on the PC though.

As an aside to other repsonses in this thread: My Playstation2 is a US version1 and it works fine even today, after having been dismantled to play a copied PSX game in front of an english class for a presentation. 🙂

So about 8-9 years ago was the last time you did? I think that proves his point.

It's okay if you maudib don't understand the need of 4 controllers. We don't expect those without friends to "get it". However, I won't just insult you, two. Instead, I'll invite you two over to play some 4 player {insert any 4 player game here}.

If you think that those screenshots represent anything the console is gonna look like, I'm sorry to say that it's NOT going to be that good... it never has been, and never will be that good (at least not with the consoles coming out right now) If you make a comparison of every game ever made and look at the screenshots, they're always better looking no matter what..

Uh, guess again. The reason screen shots always looked better was because they were higher resolution than what we really see. However with the new age of high-definition gaming, the screenshots ARE what we see. Go look at the GAMEPLAY videos those screen were taken from and come back to say it again.

That isn't true. The system's have two totally different architectures. Developers are having a hard time coding anything for the ps3, let alone porting it out. Most people are jumping ship to 360 because of XNA, which essentially lets them develop on Xbox and PC at the same time.

There will still be games on both systems, but it's going to be FAR less than last generation.

Uh it's Muadib!!! And you haven't named a game!!! I know of a few for the PS2 that you can use more than 2 controllers, but they suck when you do. What Xbox games that use 4 controllers don't?

not in all respects though. coding for 3 general purpose cores will be easier than 1 main CPU with 7 SPE's. i'm still sticking by my computer though - versatility FTW 😀

Well I remember when Halo came out I was living in the dorms and we were addicted to that for the longest time, same with Halo 2. We just plugged the Xbox into the ethernet and voila! 16 player Halo. Now over at my place we play a lot of Top Spin, 2 - 4 players. I mean I can honestly say I utilize the 4 player option almost every day with Top Spin. There is also this puzzle game I had for a while that I can't remember the name of but it had a whole bunch of these stupid little mini games that were great to just sit and get drunk to. Other than that I dunno, I'm sure there are more 4 player games for the xbox but to be honest I don't really play too many of them, especially not anymore. Now I stick to NCAA 2005 or Top Spin, but 4+ player games (in real life, forget xbox live and all that) are the future!

I've owned all systems, plan to in the future, but I could care less about the PS3 right now. I hate sony's tech demos and all that crap. Anyone remember when the PS2 had "Real time Final Fantasy 8 CG" and that's how games would look? Hello I have not seen anything even close to that on the PS2. I'm sick of sony telling us what their systems "Could" do, but we never see it in our gaming world.

Gamers play games, not hardware. That's what it all comes down to.

hey guys did you know that the PS2 claimed to have REAL TIME RAY TRACING before it was released?

REAL TIME RAY TRACING

yea, way to go SONY HYPE!

thats my comment on the whole sony thing ... hype.

PS3 is on paper more powerful but in reality, Xbox360 will be more suited to produce better graphics and game expriences.

Here's why,.
Cpus wise, cell has 1 general core and 7 physics processsing pure math cores and 1 system bound unuseable core. that means physics and simple calculations will benefit but guess what? beyond simple calcualtions, all the complex ones will have to be either a) programmed to be work divisible so the ppe can divide the nistructions among the 7spes and then but it together again, or more likely b) in cross platform gfames, all complex instructions will be executed by the single ppe.

now lets look at graphics. the Cell will use what is basically a G70(7800gt/gtx) with either 24 turboed(speeded up, oced) pipes or 32 pipes. the R500 will on the other hand have 48 programmable pipes that can turn into pixel or vertex pipes as needed. combined with WGF 1.0 support,( g70 is dx9c), the xbox360 will also be more versitle be faster since r500 is actuially 1 generation more advanced than the g70 which shares something like 30-40% of it's design with the NV40 of 6800 series fame.

as of now, microsoft has stamed out definitive specs while we all know how sony hypes falesly all of it's machines(ps2 will be more powerful than pcs for 5 years, etc)

the only advantage sony has is a hdd for every unit and it looks more upscale since it copys almost exactly the design of the bose dvd player.

The PS3 is going to be very impressive up until release time and everyone realizes that Sony over-hyped their console....again.

That said, I don't expect their to be a large noticeable difference between the two consoles. It is really going to be up to the software developers to pump everything out of them.

I say that the PS3 will come out on top... again. They have the games. That's always what it's been about. ALWAYS. They have too many exclusives. Unless the console is truly a mega-bitch to program for, then they will once again have the dominant library of software.
