I am making about 2/3 as much as I did 3 years ago.

I currently make enough money to buy socks, but only every other month.

Bingo! I'm also making about 2/3 of what I made 3 years ago, but life is still comfortable.

More would respond to a poll with yearly, pre-tax pay ranges.

Aye. Do that.

My ATOT has a search button too... this was only a couple of weeks ago!

Cliff Notes: one-quarter-ish of ATOTers claim to make over 200K per year. Many are probably lying;)

You might be better off opening a gourmet coffee shop in an affluent area that lacks one. You make mad $$$$, have fun, meet interesting (mostly wealthy) people, make good connections , and it's easy to run. You can work the morning (when most of the money comes in, and hire one person to run it from like 1-4or so. Open Sundays for like 4-5 hours and take monday off if you wanna. I like the idea of workin' 7-1 every day.

The key is finding a nice small building in a good location (busy street with thru traffic, maybe near an industrial park or near the gateway to a shoppin plaza), buy it and fix it up to look like a european cafe.. :)
Of course, if you can handle a dunkin donuts, and have the financial backing, that's a no-brainer.

Four times as much as I made 4 years ago and still not enough.
Well, ok, it is enough to own a nice house, drive a new car(but it's a Kia) and support a stay at home wife and 4 kids.
But it's not enough to buy lots of expensive toys.
