<< I'm going to Tunica, MS in a couple of weeks. Nice casinos considering they're in the middle of nowhere. Once you are inside, it is just like Vegas. >>

Have not been there yet? is it good?

Since I live in jackson, MS the closest place is Vicksburg - usually go to the Isle or Harras, Also go to biloxi if I am there is the Beau Rivage of the Grand. - id sure like to meet some fellow gambling lovers around this area, its starting to suck going alone cause no one else around here wants to go (other then my best friend, but he has so much on his hands he can only find time to go once every 2-3 months).

First thing I do when I walk in is head over to the poker room and put my name on the waiting list. Then I wander around a bit...little roulette here, little blackjack there, maybe a few slots...until I hear my name called. Then I make a mad dash to the poker table...Texas Hold'em is my game...$3-$6, $4-$8, or $6-$12, whatevers available. What I like about it is you don't play against the house, just other gamblers. The house takes a few bucks out of every pot but all the house does is supply the dealer, and he doesn't play the game. The fun part is going with some buddies and all sitting at the same table...free drinks, free meals, and lots of laughs. Last year I sat at the same table for 18 hours and walked out $12 ahead...fun as hell.

Kewlb-

I love to go to Biloxi, one of the best places to gamble in the USA in my opinion. Tunica was good but not if you didnt drive there as casinos are spread over a wide area.

Went for my Birthday last year, Sept 23rd so left about this time tommorrow. :) Wish I were going again. 3 trips there so far and still havent lost yet. No big wins either but an almost free 4 day stay is a win and Im not a big gambler.

Will post next time Im going. Did it last year but nobody seemed interested.

Tunica is an interesting place. I've been to Vegas many times and some of these small riverboat and Indian casinos around the country, and Tunica's casinos are very good in comparison. Not quite Vegas, but very good. Tunica is 20 minutes south of Memphis. There are about eight large casinos all on the riverbank. But they are large, nice resort-type hotels. They are not within walking distance of each other with the exception of "pockets" where some are together. There is literally nothing else but bean fields surrounding the casino areas....no restaurants, one small shopping center, a couple of gas stations.

Tunica is the third largest casino complex behind Vegas and Atlantic City. All the big casino companies are represented. We stay at Gold Strike (owned by Mandalay). It is the tallest building in Mississippi (if I'm not mistaken) at 30 stories or so and 1,200 rooms. Hollywood, Bally's, Grand, Isle of Capri, Sam's Town, etc.

Huge casinos, loose comps, and I've had great luck there!!!

I go to the ones with the nickel slot machines. Last time I went I actually won about $4. But basically it's entertainment.
