Minimizing the window releases most of the memory used. That helps, but with 1gb ram i never notice.

Holy sh!t, yeah minimizing does make a big difference. Viewing this thread (no tabs), I had 77k. I minimized and checked again and it was 13k.

EDIT: Minimized and brought up again. If it stayed minimized it was 1.6k
 
~25mb w/ 3 tabs open. Minimized it's under 2mb. 🙂 I've seen it up to about 35mb-40 at times though. What gives with 75-100 effing megs???
