how much memory for laptop

currently i have 2 128mb so dimms in my p3-700 laptop. They are infineon originals. i went ahead and ordered a new 256mb infineon sodimm to jack it up to 384 mb. Would getting another 256mb to be at 512 make much of a difference in win2k. I've never really dealt with more than 256mb on my win2k systems as i didnt think there was a reason but with ram prices this low if figured i'd kick it up to 384 at least.

no i gotta figure out what to do with this extra sodimm.
